Business education is important. In fact, we should start business education in grade school, even pre-school. Financial and business literacy should be taught then. Practical, business education along with other types of education.

Children should be taught, for their grade level and their age level, the fundamentals of business. How to decide upon a business. How to decide upon products. How to sell/advertise/obtain customers. How to get funding. How to budget. Children can set up micro companies. They can set up “pretend companies” like playschool companies or real companies, real businesses. This can be a class project, a classroom activity. They should also visit real companies and talk to real business professionals. Child entrepreneurs who are successful at business can also visit and talk to the class.

There are books on business and setting up companies, which are designed for children. Children should have these books. If the schools don’t teach then, then parents should purchase these books and teach their children business and financial literacy. These books can be purchased at Amazon.com.

There are also many internet websites to teach both children and adults business education and business ethics.

Business education should be taught along with all of the other subjects, and should be a fundamental, along with reading, writing, and mathematics. Not just theoretical business education, but practical business education.

And this is where that particular lyric becomes relevant. Dreams, we all have them and if not why not? They are the spice that makes life interesting, that far-flung, ‘up in the clouds’ goal that inspires you to reach deep withing and aim for lofty ideals!

So many well-meaning families unwittingly hold back talented individuals by telling them to ‘be practical’ and ‘stop living in a fantasy world’, amongst other things. Yet let me ask you this? Do you believe that some of the greatest achievers in history would have got where they are if they played it safe and stuck to the rules that society sets?

Of course not! Oprah Winfrey wouldn’t have got to where she is, Albert Einstein may have capitulated to his teachers’ criticisms and never invented the theory of relativity. Many an entertainer, artist or inventor began by imagining how great life could be. Many followed their dreams and succeeded in a big way!

And, so can you! What is that special inner yearning that you’ve always ignored, that exciting plan that you dare only entertain in your innermost thoughts? The ‘something’ that excites you above all others?

Whatever that may be is probably life’s prompting for you to grasp hold and act on the inkling. Dare to dream big and spread your dreamer’s wings and fly towards the most fantastic of goals! Life almost demands that you do!

As the great Nelson Mandela famously put it, ‘There is no point in playing safe in life, dare to try big things!’, or words to that effect.

It’s fair to say that you only get one chance at life, so why not get out there and inspire the world with your special brand of magic and achievement by living your dreams? The positive end result is that we are all bound to benefit if you choose to do this! Life is great, dare to dream!
